The staff were excellent and very enthusiastic, however the museum itself does not have much to see (exception being toumi and the oldest humanoid skull ever recovered). Come if you're into archeology but not much else..... can't fault the staff though, very hospitable and knowledgeable.

This can certainly be considered a trip of a lifetime. Very few groups ever wondered as far. One can't go there alone or, for a private outing. There is no infrastructure of any kind and, the tent is the accomodation you have to carry with you. The trip to this area, as outwordly as it is, needs a precise preparation. There are local outfitters (in N'Jamena) who are able to organize a trip. The area is full of wondeful walking/climbing terrain and, is a Mecca for the people interested in prehistoric Rock Art.To get there it takes 6-7 days of roadless driving but, the reward is great. The remotness and uniqness of the landscape has no equal. 2-3 more days of driving you get in to Ouri Plane which has a large concentration of Rock Art, and gentle sand claded valleys with sandstone peaks around. The terrain which in Prehistoric times was much greener and contained many different animals which in turn, were hunted by people of this era and, later the scenes were painted on the walls of their shelters. All together unique and unforgetable experience.Show More
